My names is Eddie Saunsoci and I was born in Omaha, NE. I was raised in North Omaha and learned how to adapt to my surroundings. I’m Black and Native and from the Omaha Tribe.

Growing up I’ve always loved to create and explore. Not until I made a trip to Standing Rock, ND for the Dakota Access pipeline protest, did I realize I had a true passion for storytelling. I ran a small blog and from that experience my perspective was reshaped on the power of storytelling.

I’ve seen the transformation of processing my childhood and realize that understanding my generational trauma was a huge step in me gaining control in my life. I now want to reach 1 billion people on the topic of generation trauma and feel that when we understand its effects it can lead to true change.

Seeing my peers go after their passion fueled me to search for mine. Digital story telling does something for me, it allows for me to tap into a creative space that soothes my anxiety but also puts the watcher in my shoes in a way that is empathetic. Using creative spaces have shown me a way to process trauma that compartmentalized for a long time. I want to open up the dialogue for people like me who come from traumatic childhoods.

I know that my upbringing is similar to a lot of people out there and that our voice/story will be meaningful for our peers to hear. Because if we process our childhood, it will for sure benefit our future.

Our perspectives are what make us unique, let’s nurture that..
